PANERAI - The Italian Stallion Print E-mail

Slytech_Box.jpg Over the past several years Panerai has become a hot item with the “in crowd” and Sylvester Stallone can be credited with the brand’s recent popularity. In 1995 Stallone called on the company to produce a limited number of watches, signed by him, as gifts for several celebrity friends including Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Several limited edition “Slytech” models have been produced and the relationship between Panerai and Stallone continues to this day. Only 500 examples of the Sylvester Stallone “Luminor Chrono 1000M Slytech” were made in 1995.

This huge 47 mm titanium divers watch features a self-winding, water-resistant, chronograph movement, helium escape valve and 46-hour power reserve, engraved with Sylvester Stallone’s autograph expect to pay between $8,000-$10,000. Panerai’s initial notoriety came as the official watch of Royal Italian Navy Divers and more recently as the official timekeeper of Ferrari. Panerai’s storied history makes it one of the sexiest collectible watches on the market.
